On June 9th, 2025, Jupiter is about to enter the sign of the heart, the hearth, home, family, mothers, women, nurturance, and children. Jupiter in Cancer is a once-in-12-years-event that lasts for a full 12 months, right until June 30th, 2026. Astrologically, this event brings great luck and love.

Let’s jump into a quick explanation of the terms and the timeframes! Skip here if you don’t want to read that.

Astro-terms

Jupiter

Jupiter is the luck-bringer of the planets, the planetary player that brings opportunities and good fortune, boosts our confidence, and makes us take necessary (and sometimes unnecessary) risks. Given that it also amplifies everything it touches, including a sign’s shadow sides, Jupiter is also associated with excess, recklessness, and any consequences that come through “too much of a good thing.” It’s also about learning, teaching, travel, education, natural gifts, money, and wisdom gained through experiences.

Cancer

Cancer is one of the 12 zodiac sign in astrology (like Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and so on). While carrying the same name as the disease, this zodiac sign has nothing to do with cancer or tumors of any kind (it was merely named after the Latin word for crab).

Rather, this zodiac sign stands for our desires for safety, protection, protectiveness, the vulnerable, the home, hearth, and family, and mothering, nurturing, parenting, and children. It also stands for the heart and deep sensitivity.

Timeframes:

Present:

June 9th, 2025 – June 30th, 2026.

Before that, Jupiter journeys through Gemini.

Previously:

June 26th, 2013 – July 16th, 2014.

Next:

May 24th, 2037 – June 12th, 2038.

Jupiter in Cancer: When Your Heart Says Go

Jupiter amplifies everything it touches, and Cancer is the sign of the heart (a quality it shares with Leo, in case you’re wondering). This means that under this event, Jupiter gives you the opportunities to fully follow your heart and create a life that’s aligned with, and safe for your deepest, most vulnerable parts of yourself.

This is a time of accessing deep love for yourself and for other people, of pouring yourself into your relationships with your loved ones, and finding the ways you most need to nourish others and give back to your community… and also, of receiving back the love you give.

Jupiter in Cancer is a time when the Heart reigns our worlds and we become more protective of others, more loving to those who matter most, and more nurturing to the world in general.

Belief Systems in the Home

Jupiter in Cancer asks us to bring the deep beliefs we hold into the realm of our home and into our most private spaces, including the privacy of our own souls. This is a time to make a physical and emotional space for whatever it is you most deeply believe to be true, good, and worth having faith in – in your home, your routines, and your mindsets.

This is going to be especially amplified when Saturn and Neptune re-enter Pisces (September 1st / October 22nd 2025 – January 26th/February 14th, 2026 respectively).

It is also a time to share your deep inner beliefs with the people who matter most to you at a heart level: your family, partner, and general loved ones.

Heightened Vulnerability

This is going to be particularly relevant to HSPs and people who have different conditions/diagnoses that make them physically or even emotionally more sensitive than the average person. But even for the “average” human being, this is going to be a theme that’s felt: Jupiter in Cancer heightens our sensory and emotional vulnerabilities.

Under this event, we need more care. We need more safety and stability. We also may need more time to decompress after having been out and about all day, or in environments that were deeply stressful or overstimulating in one way or another. (This is also going to be amplified September 1st, 2025 through January 26th, 2026).

Jupiter in Cancer makes us need more self-care and care from our loved ones. Conversely, it also makes us want to care more for others – become the protector, nurturer, or lover that the people our hearts are closest to really need. Please make sure to prioritize a balanced give-and-take and to be neither swayed in the direction of holding others accountable for your own state of being, nor in the direction of trying to save people from themselves.

When Emotions Become Too Much

I’m a big proponent for humans feeling their feelings and processing their emotions (especially negative ones) rather than suppressing them and experiencing dire long-term consequences. I also am a big believer in healthy emotional expression, which includes crying (including for men!)

However, there are right relationships and situations for processing emotions. For instance, choosing to cry uncontrollably or doing anger-release exercises in front of kindergarten-age children and younger (or pets) is NOT right as they’re too small to understand what’s going on, and feel an unhealthy amount of responsibility and lack of safety around you at this time. You processing your own stuff shouldn’t become someone else’s developmental trauma – it’s one thing to lose control in one situation because you’re so emotionally overwhelmed, it’s something very different to deliberately and consciously choose your environment for a breakdown to involve people who would be harmed by that (and to do so regularly). This kind of stuff has a very big effect on a child’s developing nervous system and psyche… and on animals as well.

In the same vein, there are also right ways of processing or bringing our emotions to others: punishing people (especially for things they didn’t personally do), perpetually playing the victim (and refusing to take your own agency), being overly needy, and/or expecting access to someone 24/7 without neither gratitude nor reciprocity is not that.

Similarly, there are environments where you probably shouldn’t deliberately process your emotions (cough, cough: filming yourself crying and posting it on social media) as they put you at risk emotionally… as, under Jupiter in Cancer, the ways other people react to your emotions really hurts – much more than usual. So, someone else not reacting well to your emotions (which social media audiences are known for) is probably going to hurt your feelings more than it helps. So, if you can pick the places to start crying (which is not always possible, I know - but if you can pick), pick the places that are safe and the people that are trustworthy for your own sake. Privacy allows you to fully heal, while a public audience might put the healing process at risk depending on their reaction. At this time, it’s a better plan of action to process by yourself, and to only choose if/how to bring it to others once the situation doesn’t feel charged any longer. You can always share later, should that be your heart’s desire. But you can't fully take back the limelight from your vulnerability.

So, why are we talking about all of this? Jupiter in Cancer can heighten the impact that emotional expressions have on all parties involved (on you, on bystanders, on the proverbial "victim"), it can heighten the impact of someone’s positive or negative reactions to the expressed emotions – and it heightens the temptation for unhealthy emotional expressions as well. While we all have choices, this means that it’s more likely that we ourselves or the people around us mess up from time to time.

And there are times where “messing up” is more dire than what I already mentioned.

Frankly, there are people who expect everyone else to take responsibility for their own emotions and really look to be saved, coddled, and treated like they alone have a right to feel all the feelings, but that everyone else’s emotions are either secondary or have no right to exist at all (as they might be inconvenient to the person). Similarly, there are people who use their emotions to punish others, emotionally blackmail people, or hold them hostage. Unfortunately, Jupiter in Cancer amplifies all of those behaviors just as much as the beauties of feeling emotions, such as access to deep love and aliveness.

The same goes for the other side of the coin: Jupiter in Cancer amplifies all our behaviors that enable these unhealthy emotional expressions in others, like our guilt, shame, and fear when someone’s upset at us, our sense of responsibility when someone acts like they needed something from us (that wasn’t ours to provide and) that we (therefore) didn’t give, It amplifies our sense of needing to save everyone – even from themselves, and our fears of not being liked or loved anymore/losing the sense of belonging we previously had.

This means that we need to have good boundaries for ourselves as well as other people: Don’t become drawn into becoming someone’s emotional punching bag or savior to someone who frankly doesn’t need saving, and usually doesn’t want it either (at least, not really). However, if we follow those guidelines, we’ll be all right.

In astrology, we have choices around how we handle the planetary energies. This means that we can choose to take care of our own selves, we can choose to respond in healthy ways to what we’re feeling, and we can choose to treat others and ourselves well. Under Jupiter in Cancer, it’s important to be mindful of all these patterns – but it doesn’t mean that people automatically slide into them. Just make sure you a) consciously choose what you’re doing and b) that you don’t become the world’s savior who’s inevitably used by people who don’t deserve your love.

With enough time, Jupiter shows us and teaches us the wisdom that comes from having a big heart and feeling what it is that we’re feeling. But on the road there, we need to figure out how to do this responsibly.

Safety, Love, and the Home

Let’s go back to the great sides of Jupiter in Cancer. As you may know, 2025 (and 2026 really) are huge years full of drastic changes (I mean, our only constants for 2025 are the planet of total transformation, Pluto, and the asteroid of the wounded healer, Chiron – and in 2026, this number is reduced to just Pluto – everything else is changing in drastic ways). In comes Jupiter in Cancer, providing us with safety, stability, and a sense of home: this is our anchor for this time of change.

And not only that: in your own life, Jupiter in Cancer reveals where and how we can create pockets of coziness, homes that become safe havens, and places of refuge and love that help us recharge and handle everything that is in flux.

This is also a great time to buy/invest in properties, your home, and your family. Your loved ones, regardless of whether they are family by blood or family you found, can provide more love and more heart-centered safety and a true anchor for you. And, if you’re right now in a phase where you’re a bit isolated, Jupiter in Cancer helps you find your tribe.

Effect on the Eclipses:

January 2025 to August 2026, Jupiter is the ruler of the North Node, the point of destiny that shows us where and how we’re growing – as well as what we’re growing into. Not only that, but Jupiter also gains regency over and directly impacts all eclipses.

This means that June 2025 to June 2026, all eclipses (2 in September of 2025, 2 in February 2026) carry a huge theme around listening to your heart, creating a home, and finding/deepening in love. This makes it a great time to jump on dating apps, get married, or have a meet-cute in a supermarket that leads to love and a new family when all you were prepared for was getting groceries.

If you long for love, now is the time.

If you long for a family, now is the time, too (obviously, not everyone wants a family – that’s fine. This event won’t lead to you being stalked by an overly insistent stork with a baby in its beak).

If you long for your tribe, for fixing things with your family, and/or for finding a new home, you’re massively supported cosmically.

And if you want to get work to the next level (and you work with Cancerian themes, such as anything related to protection, families, children, mothers/women, homes, hospitality, and food), then you’re massively supported as well.

Destiny’s on your side with Jupiter in Cancer, so – go to town.

In-the-Sign Predictions

Jupiter in Cancer isn’t just something that impacts your Sun and Rising sign – your entire chart is unique to you, and therefore, no two people will experience this event the same way (plus, Jupiter in Cancer does not exist in a vacuum). If you want a full breakdown of what this year means to you and which opportunities to take (and how to create the life you dream of), pop in for a reading!

Predictions for Sun and Rising signs only.

Aries:

This event boosts your home life, making it literally possible for you to buy, invest, or change your home to become a truly safe haven. You have more luck when it comes to family matters, and fertility is heightened (if that’s a theme that applies to you, of course – so be mindful with contraception/use this time window, depending on your preference ;) Again - only if the theme applies). Your private life and home life becomes a bigger focus at this time.

Taurus:

This event impacts and boosts the way you express yourself and use your voice. Jupiter in Cancer for you brings you more luck to all things having to do with your local life, siblings, and neighbors, as well as with learning journeys and/or endeavors that involve writing, speaking, or the media. Jupiter in Cancer also impacts how you perceive the world, showing you more opportunities and a different perspective on life.

Gemini:

This event impacts your finances and monetizable skills/products. Jupiter here boosts everything to do with money, including giving you more opportunities for earnings. However, it also boosts overspending and/or fears around money, so don’t lose your head. Jupiter here also impacts your self-worth and confidence, boosting both, as well as your values: this is a time to get clear on what you believe and to adjust life accordingly. This is a very abundant and luck-bringing event for you.

Cancer:

This event reveals to you where in life you need to take a big risk. You’re more visible to the world and are seen (and appreciated) more for who you truly are. Massive opportunities are coming into your life that may or may not change your entire life’s trajectory (it’s up to you!) You're learning more about yourself as well. Expect big luck and positive life changes.

Leo:

This event shows you where you need to let go of what no longer serves you and where you can give away what overburdens you, and which responsibilities are not yours. Opportunities for life-(re)alignments come in, but they’re often cloaked in the guise of something not working or seemingly going wrong. Within hindsight (usually of a couple of years), you will see how positive those events were for you – and how they brought you long-term happiness and your highest good.

Virgo:

This event impacts your dreams, goals, and plans for your long-term future. With Jupiter here, you’ll be seeing opportunities to create long-term changes and prepare a beautiful life right until old age. In your friend group, Jupiter allows you to meet new people (that can become found family). It also reveals the true character of your friends and deepens platonic love.

Libra:

This event amplifies and reveals truths in any part of life that’s related to the public realm, including a potential public-facing job and your overall reputation. You're more visible: During this time, one potential way this can play out is by you getting recognition by others beyond your expectation. Jupiter here also brings you more opportunities for work, buiding a legacy, and success, as well as your career as a whole. If you’re a parent, you may find that you have more luck with raising your child(ren).

Scorpio:

This event allows you to experience real truth and become your own version of a teacher - by sharing the truth you find with others on a personal or public level. You may feel a major boost with any endeavor that broadens your horizons (such as travel, education, learning, teaching, exposure to different cultures/ways of life, or adventures). Experiences with anything that's strange to you are highlighted (examples: different cultures, travel, actual strangers, new information of some kind) and in-laws may become a heightened theme for those it applies to.

Sagittarius:

This event reveals the truths that really there, including those hidden by lies and secrets. This is a great time to get married and/or to clean up or set up finances that you share with others (examples: inheritances, taxes, trust funds, insurances, finances shared with a spouse, alimony, etc.) You have more luck with money and intimacy, but also experience consequences more quickly and have more of a spotlight on these areas of your life/on you when engaging in these life areas. Processing emotions and healing from the past is highlighted at this time.

Capricorn:

This event boosts and brings luck (and in some cases, final endings that lead to future love) to your committed relationships, such as spouses, business partners, committed girlfriends/boyfriends, and true best friends. Jupiter boosts your ability to see into the future and decide if this is the right relationship for you, and your ability to find new loves and even the one love that makes it all the way. This is also a time to learn about the people you're in relationship with and become their/take them on as teacher. This is a great time for making decisions around/starting your journey to marriage (for those who want that).

Aquarius:

This event impacts your work and daily chores that you do, as well as how you choose to serve and help others. Under this event, you may find more opportunities and influxes in work and productivity, thrive in (and find) situations where you can help others, and you may update your daily routines to be even better and more heart/belief-centered for you. Jupiter in Cancer also amplifies all matters that have to do with health and healing: This means that any endeavor to do with either is cosmically supported and that your general health likely receives a boost (individual charts may see different effects).

Pisces:

This event impacts your children (if applicable) and fertility, giving you luck with both… regardless of whether you want luck with either (so if a pregnancy is viable but unwanted at this time, take extra care to avoid one). Jupiter here also creates a big boost for all things regarding creativity (including monetization of creativity), and your hobbies. Joy is amplified and a bigger theme. Lastly, Jupiter puts a new focus on your love life (which may show someone's true colors that were hidden before) and sets you up to find or deepen a truly happy romantic love.
