The Outer Planets from 2026-2032: An Overview and Compilation

  • 9 min read

The Outer Planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are the heavy-weights in astrology that both shape our individual experience of the world - and throw us curveballs and massive transformational growth journeys - and our collective, political, techonological, and social landscapes. They're each really slow-moving, with the fastest, Uranus, needing 84 years to come full circle, Neptune needing 165 years for the same thing, and Pluto completing its cycle only every 248 years. This means that they spend 7-8 years (Uranus), 14-15 years (Neptune), and 10-35 years (Pluto) in each sign... a very long time, indeed.

But from April of 2026 to August of 2032, all Outer Planets stay in their respective signs without a sign change, making this the perfect time for a compilation on all necessary articles, just in case you'd like a refresher or you'd like to catch up on what you haven't read yet.

And before you wonder why I didn't make this compilation from 2025 to 2033, the answer is simple: because Uranus moved back and forth between Taurus and Gemini until April 2026, and will move back and forth between Gemini and Cancer from August 2032 onward. A.k.a., if it's not firmly in one sign, the compilation would be too complicated.

So, let's dive in!

Shortcuts:

The Outer Planets in Aries, Gemini, and Aquarius: An Overview

Currently, all the Outer Planets - Uranus, the Change-Maker and Liberator, Neptune, the Inspirer and Motivater, and Pluto, the Transformer and Power-Player - are in active signs. What does this mean? Let's explain by showing where they were earlier. Before now, the Outer Planets were partially or fully in signs that were slow to change or even change-resistant. Things were more passive, or slower to change. The impulse that told you to do something was harder to put into action; the knowledge that something had to give was harder to express, never mind do something about.

This has its perks: Pluto in Capricorn showed us to change in ways that are smart, sustainable, wise, and systematical. It also showed us the power of the way things used to be - which we could learn from (wise tradition), transform inside of our own minds (unhealthy expectations), or be impacted by on a day-to-day level (authority figures, systems around us). Neptune in Pisces showed us that suffering leads to wisdom and that inspiration for compassion can be one of the most powerful tools - it also helped us with intuition and spiritualilty. One of the perks of Uranus in Taurus was the change-maker in the sign that's all about slowness, steadiness, and consistency... a.k.a., slow and steady leads to lasting, foundational, embodied change.

That doesn't mean it's always been positive: Neptune in Pisces bogged us down with self-doubt, defeatism, confusion, and even delusion. Pluto in Capricorn brought unhealthy and irresponsible authority into the mix, and Uranus in Taurus brought change to where it most hurt (and made change harder when we initiated it). Those were all more passive signs (well... Capricorn is more passive than Aquarius, at any rate).

However, since 2023-2025, these planets all moved into active and quick signs.

Pluto in Aquarius brings quick, large-scale transformation and opens up all possibilities.

Neptune in Aries brings the inspiration to take up arms (proverbially or literally) to create a new beginning. It brings the hope of making it happen and the inspiration and clarity around what you'd like to happen. Uranus in Gemini brings change at the speed of light, and the desire for total liberation.

(Also, both Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini have massive impacts on tech developments and information, while Neptune in Aries impacts energy... just saying.)

So... the last time we had these three together was the age of the Reformation (and that wasn't exact because Uranus left Gemini just before Neptune and Pluto made their ways into Aries and Aquarius, but it's close enough that they still influenced each other). Which means, it's a pretty, pretty interesting time we live in, historically speaking.

Now, let's look at each planet and what articles you can read to go deeper.

Uranus in Gemini: Planet of Change and Surprises

Uranus is the planet of unexpected events and drastic life-change, pivots, and breakthroughs. It seeks to liberate whatever it touches and can bring both impulsivity and massive innovation to the world and to us as individuals. In the sign of Gemini, it's very concerned with technology, information, communication, and the mind - among other things. This event, lasts from 2025 to 2033 in total, but takes place in 3 stages:

July - November 2025, April 26th, 2026 - August 8th, 2032, December 2032 - May 2033.

Let's start with the history of this event. In the past 1,000 years, Uranus has been in Gemini 12 times (each time for 7-8 years). Each time, we've had massively fascinating events both for/in literature, technology, the market, and global politics. My article series on this subject is around 30+ pages long, and split into 3 parts, each covering 4 of the 12 timeframes. You can read them here, here, and here: This is particularly relevant for people who are interested either in history, or in the geo-political side of astrology, as this series brings a pretty compelling view of past patterns we're already seeing repeat in our world right now.

The general breakdown of Uranus in Gemini for this timeframe - in our modern age, including the context of Neptune and Pluto during the timeframe - is this article called Winds of Change. Here, we talk about how this transit works and impacts all of us.

Then, we have a short and specific-to-this-timeframe breakdown for each Sun and Rising Sign on how Uranus in Gemini impacts you while the rest of the planets are where they are. I nicknamed the article Where The Winds Blow.

Lastly, I have a series of timeless articles non-specific to Gemini and the overall context of the planetary transits, or these times: these guides to Uranus in each house are applicable to birth charts and astrological events, so they're more in-depth, but less specific to where we are right now. They're full of tips though, so I recommend them. Each is a separate article that's longer.

Neptune in Aries: Planet of Hope, Meaning, and Vision

Neptune is the hardest planet to grasp and explain in astrology. So, part of me doesn't even want to try. No, just kidding: on a very real level, Neptune shows us the zeitgeist and collective ideals we hold, as well as individually, what and how we live spiritually, as well as our intuition, capacity to reach beyond what is here and now, find forgiveness and compassion, love deeply, and - on the negative level - fall into addiction and self-destruction patterns. Neptune provides a balance to Pluto and Uranus and is, therefore, the third and irreplacable part of the clockwork of change-making Outer Planets that determine both our individual and collective growth journeys of change.

This is especially true because Neptune is in Aries, a sign of new beginnings, taking action, and creating what we wish to see. In the past, we've seen major social and humanitarian movements during this time, as well as the birth of ideologies such as communism and nationalism, and major events in religious entities, such as the Christian church(es). So, while Uranus and Pluto create change in obvious ways, Neptune really greases the wheels by a) massively motivating us and b) impacting our personal and collective motivations, the reasons why we do what we do. This has major impact on our lives and the world at large. (It can also lead to the kind of events that seem so out-of-left field that they're basically miracles, and it deals with the power of inspiration.)

So, let's go deeper on history: Neptune is in Aries every 165 years for 14-15 years, meaning it was here over the past 1,000 years 6 times. Neptune entered Aries first between March and October of 2025, and then fully entered Aries on January 26th, 2026. It will stay here until 2039, with a brief period of waffling between two signs between 2038-2039. Some noteworthy events were the religious schisms in church history, the U.S. Civil War, and so much more I won't event try to list the highlights: read History of Neptune in Aries: 1,000 Years in Analysis here.

As Neptune drastically changes the zeitgeist and society's way of interaction, and therefore impacts the culture, the next article discusses what's coming next here and how we can expect change to occur: Neptune in Aries and Our Changing Society: Fighting the Good Fight.

On an individual level, Neptune brings The Magic of Hope, Heroes, and Power, impacting our ability to take agency, create the life we truly need, and idealize ourselves and others (in good OR bad ways). The article here breaks it down and helps by giving some perspective on how we'll change until 2039.

However, I also wrote an additional article on Neptune in Aries's effect on each sign. This is specific to this timeframe, as it takes Pluto in Aquarius into account as well. Read it here: Neptune in Aries: Effects on Each Sign.

Pluto in Aquarius: Planet of Transformation and Power

With Pluto, the planet of transformation, depth, the dark, passion for life, the hidden, and journeys of complete overhaul, we can always expect processes that transform coal into diamonds in one specific area of our life. Between 2026 and 2032, Pluto resides in the sign of Aquarius, which is all about social structures, forward momentum, change, creating what is new, bringing up rebelliousness and impulses towards liberation, and our drive to be both different from others and our true selves. Aquarius is a highly theoretical sign that's often associated with humanitarianism, as that's the highest potential of positive-Aquarius there is... but its shadow, and something we see intensely with Pluto here, is actually a hatred of humanity and fanaticism in any iteration. The power of groups - for good, and for bad - is something that Pluto teaches us right now.

Let's start with the history: Pluto is in Aquarius every 248 for 20-21 years (due to its elliptic orbit), and has been here in the past 1,000 years 4 times. Some of the highlights were large-scale changes for/of geopolitical key powers and also, massive revolutions. This truly is a time for the books. My article History of Pluto in Aquarius: 1,000 Years in Analysis (Full Length Article) walks you through what you need to know, while the previously published, far shorter article here combines the (highly summarized and edited) history of the above article with a future outlook. (The combination-article was the first history article I ever wrote, before I realized people loved the deep-dives - thank you to all those who asked me to publish the full document later on, and encouraged me in going full-throttle on this. This one is the far more comprehensive article the other one based on.)

How Pluto in Aquarius impacts us on the individual level on its journey here from 2023 to 2044 is something I've discussed here: Pluto in Aquarius in Your Personal Life: Where One-Size-Fits-All Goes to Die. This brings a breakdown outside of politics and in our personal, individual reality. I highly recommend reading this article and learning more about the event before diving into what's coming next...

Pluto in Aquarius in the houses! So, I have separate articles for each Rising Sign (a.k.a., how Pluto impacts each of your houses) that provide deep-dives full of information. These are my best-performing articles, so you might really enjoy them. They're timeless and meant to be read in conjunction with the above-linked article specific to Pluto in Aquarius in your personal life.

Bonus: Chiron in Taurus

For a good deal of time during this timeframe, Chiron walks through Taurus as well (namely, June-September 2026, and then April 2027 to 2033/2034). As Chiron is the asteroid of the wounded healer, it also impacts us personally and collectively, especially in the sign of earth, food, women, and finances. I have a series of articles on this:

Effects on the Sign (coming soon).
